MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER

Greetings everyone. My name is Tamara Johnson, and I am the Executive Director of Miracle Students Foundation. In 2013, I relocated from my home in the Bay Area to Lathrop, CA. My family was expanding, and I wanted to reside in a rural community with strong family- oriented activities.

I quickly found joy in attending the family farm, an adolescent themed museum, and the local zoo. These exhilarating activities were fun, but I also noticed that my community lacked infrastructure for teaching youth basic life skills, and many parents were commuting to the bay area for employment.

Youth appeared to be unattended. As a former child welfare worker aiding families involved in the juvenile justice system, I quickly realized that young people in my community were at a greater risk than youth with positive outlets.

Developing a solution for the problem in my community became my mission, and within a short amount of time, Miracle Students Foundation was born.
